Origins · Madagascar
Every spice begins with landscape, climate, community and generations of practical knowledge.
OUR FIRST ORIGIN
Madagascar is inseparable from the modern story of Bourbon vanilla. Tropical conditions support Vanilla planifolia, but climate alone does not create an exceptional pod.
Flowers open for a short period and are commonly pollinated by hand. Green beans then require careful harvesting and a long curing process to develop their supple texture, dark colour and layered aroma.
The word “Madagascar” should describe more than a point on a map. It should lead back to cultivation, judgment and the people who transform an almost scentless green pod into an extraordinary aroma.
A narrow window for skilled hand pollination.
Months of growth before careful harvesting.
Heating, sweating, drying and conditioning develop the aroma.
Texture, moisture and aromatic character inform the choice.
The people behind the spice
Origin must never become decoration. Our ambition is to develop transparent, producer-focused relationships that respect expertise and keep more value close to the communities that create it.
Precise regional, producer and batch information is still being documented. Verified details will replace generic marketing language before commercial launch.
